Not many outdoor events during the cold winter months here in the Twin Cities are that appealing to me.  But when you mix creativity, architecture, surprise, experience and community, I'm there.  And, it's called the Art Shanty Projects, so grab the family, your boots, hand-warmers and get out there.
This past weekend was Radar's first ever Pop Up Shop, "Snap*Crafted*Pop".  I have wanted to host one for a few years now since the concept is such a match to my local passion and support of creative talent in our cities.  I must say, it went well!  As I said on my Facebook page:  Close to 300 of you came out to support local MN artists.  You shopped, you purchased, you lingered, you brought your families, dogs, friends, husbands, wives, partners, moms, dads. And then our generous volunteers - you added that intimate experience by greeting, serving, taking coats, wrapping, pouring, DJing. I was just hoping 100 guests would attend. The love of local & community is strong even on a snowy night. I'm thrilled my little Radar could make a dent in bringing awareness to yet another batch of local creative products & talent. And knowing the purchased crafted items will be enjoyed just a little bit more because real hands made them.

My email fills daily with blasts from around the country to help me stay in-the-know. Today I received one about John Holcomb, the artist behind The United Plates series of prints.  Here is what he "sees" when he looks at our state lines ----->

Really?  So it got me searching for some "state art"...

Found this on Etsy, sweet. Artist is from St Paul ------>

Another Etsy find by a local artist...

One of my personal pieces, by local artist, Emily Johnson.

Purchased this print from Shoppe Local, (RIP).  It was part of the Collapse and Recovery-the 35W Bridge Poster Project.  It welcomes guests in our front hall.

So with all our fine artists, designers in this state, I'd love to see if you have pieces that reflect your vision of our state.  If so, send it!  Would love to highlight it here!

Local design agency Little&Company every year sends out a Valentine's Day card & every year I cherish it's arrival!  Here is this year's steamy stunner...
My personal favorite local art event!  Our home is surrounded by MCAD student art and this year The MCAD Art Sale has expanded with an additional evening and more access to work from in-demand artists.  For the second and third days of the sale, in-demand artists will be able to restock their work.
