A sweet, simple tagline to match what looks to be the same vibe and attitude at joan's In The Park, the new restaurant and wine bar in St Paul.  Looking at the menu, they had me at "Sweet Sausage", "Pumpkin Ravioli" and "Chocolate Pot de Creme".  To match those tasty words, here's a visual taste too:
Has anyone been?  Let me know how it is!

Opened for the season, Broders' patio. Haven't been? Then please do yourself a favor, sit yourself at the counter, order a rose' and watch and smell the chef grill up some charming nibbles.  If your 'buds can handle some heat, the Grilled Shishito Peppers are a must!  The many times I have planted myself here, I feel a bit of a CA Wine Country vibe.

Wise Guys

Spankin' new as of last night, Wise Acre Eatery, the guys of TangleTown Garden have crossed the street and started cooking.  Well not them, but they've brought in a talented team to take on the task. It's a "what's old is new again" vibe owner, Scott Endres, told me last night.  Meaning, the classic and basic farm ingredients from their 40-acres in Plato turn into creative twists from salads, slaws, burgers to savory puddings and bacon steak.  And like their garden store, the space is rustic, organic with farmhouse charm.  Since there is no website yet, here's the menu...

It's their first ever “Donate-A-Plate” event -  "In exchange for your treasure, enjoy your first pint of tap beer or a glass of house wine (red or white) on us. And in addition—and even better we think—know that 10% of all sales from Sun. May 1st will be donated to Second Harvest Foodshelf, keeping plates full throughout our community."

Not sure what went on before in the quaint and quiet Linden Hills neighborhood of Mpls, but now it's buzzing thanks to the locals love of Tilia...

So many restaurants, so little time...

There is an explosion of new dining options in Mpls!  So many that I admit I haven't had time to hit them all!  But you all need to know about them, support them, consider buying a GC for someone on your list at one of them...

Now re-open after the famous fire.  New space is much more open, airy, lively.  Menu larger with added Asian items.  Nice addition to a neighborhood that needed a welcoming venue.

the inn

The guys from St Paul's hip Strip Cub Meat & Fish steakhouse bring their love across the river.  A unique touch on the drink menu, a "bump and a beer".

jack's
With a face lift of the space and menu from the former Java Jack's, this adds another little darling to the ever-growing 46th St in So. Mpls.  Reasonably-priced homely items, with Sunday night "hot dish" night perfect for the whole family.  Long bar makes it a great place to stop in for a glass of wine and cheese.  Now if only Pattiserie 46 could open for late-night dessert!

I've yet to have pizza at Lola cuz we stopped too late.  But I saw the most beautiful cooper wood burning oven & tried Ann's house-made vanilla soft serve ice cream with extra-virgin olive oil & fleur de sel!

in-season
Executive Chef Don Saunders is back! London-trained Saunders made his name cooking unfussy but spectacular French food at the critically acclaimed AuRebours and Fugaise.
In Season is the new platform for his creativity, and the philosophy driving In Season is reflected in its name.

town hall tap
Heard the wait was 80 minutes the night I was going to stop in, that says a lot about what the hood was craving - good brewery bar with tasty food on a cozy corner of Mpls.

psycho suzi's
Can't say it better myself: "Paradise has a new address - Suzi has a posh new pad, but it’s full of the same silly crap you’ve always loved. Lounge about on our huge riverfront patio in the middle of the Northeast Arts District, and you won’t want to go home. Peruse our site for the lowdown, then get your tail down here."

Many local stores get into the shade of black too!  Plus, it's less crazy to walk into a local store than a mega mall.
