Not many outdoor events during the cold winter months here in the Twin Cities are that appealing to me. But when you mix creativity, architecture, surprise, experience and community, I'm there. And, it's called the Art Shanty Projects, so grab the family, your boots, hand-warmers and get out there. "Snap*Crafted*Pop" 12/06/2011
This past weekend was Radar's first ever Pop Up Shop, "Snap*Crafted*Pop". I have wanted to host one for a few years now since the concept is such a match to my local passion and support of creative talent in our cities. I must say, it went well! As I said on my Facebook page: Close to 300 of you came out to support local MN artists. You shopped, you purchased, you lingered, you brought your families, dogs, friends, husbands, wives, partners, moms, dads. And then our generous volunteers - you added that intimate experience by greeting, serving, taking coats, wrapping, pouring, DJing. I was just hoping 100 guests would attend. The love of local & community is strong even on a snowy night. I'm thrilled my little Radar could make a dent in bringing awareness to yet another batch of local creative products & talent. And knowing the purchased crafted items will be enjoyed just a little bit more because real hands made them. Check out the photos of SCP here! Another local doing cool things. 11/30/2011
All-around cool girl, local Marriah Lavigne, not only works with her hands in her day job as a stylist at Brian Graham Salon, but her hands are also busy creating easy recipes for aspiring at-home cooks. Check out her hearty list of dishes and cook something up. This Weekend's for the Dogs 10/28/2011

Cocoa & Fig desserts are turning pink for three days this week to help find a cure for breast cancer! Stop by their Gaviidae shop on October 17th, 18th, and 19th to pick up a sweet treat and help fight the disease that affects more than 1.4 million women each year. "Cocoa & Fig will donate 25% of retail sales from these three days directly to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. You can also make a donation directly to the cause at our shop. Help us reach our goal of donating $2,000!" Jonesing for Joan's! 09/14/2011
A sweet, simple tagline to match what looks to be the same vibe and attitude at joan's In The Park, the new restaurant and wine bar in St Paul. Looking at the menu, they had me at "Sweet Sausage", "Pumpkin Ravioli" and "Chocolate Pot de Creme". To match those tasty words, here's a visual taste too: Has anyone been? Let me know how it is! Go Armatage! 08/11/2011
While dining last night outside at Pizzeria Lola, the nicest woman, Janelle Nivens, came and asked to capture my crazy companion Gigi and me for a local project, Armatage365.org - they document all the goings-on in the thriving hood of Armatage, Mpls! Thanks Janelle! Alfresco All-Star 06/30/2011
Opened for the season, Broders' patio. Haven't been? Then please do yourself a favor, sit yourself at the counter, order a rose' and watch and smell the chef grill up some charming nibbles. If your 'buds can handle some heat, the Grilled Shishito Peppers are a must! The many times I have planted myself here, I feel a bit of a CA Wine Country vibe. Wise Guys 05/27/2011
Spankin' new as of last night, Wise Acre Eatery, the guys of TangleTown Garden have crossed the street and started cooking. Well not them, but they've brought in a talented team to take on the task. It's a "what's old is new again" vibe owner, Scott Endres, told me last night. Meaning, the classic and basic farm ingredients from their 40-acres in Plato turn into creative twists from salads, slaws, burgers to savory puddings and bacon steak. And like their garden store, the space is rustic, organic with farmhouse charm. Since there is no website yet, here's the menu... | CategoriesAll Local Experts:
